Birmingham, AL -- November 27, 2017 -- The Red Mountain Grace Board of Directors is pleased to announce that it has named Lizzi Wilkerson as its Executive Director.

Wilkerson brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having spent the last 10 years working in development and management with nonprofits in Alabama, California, Florida, and North Carolina. She has worked with national nonprofits such as The March of Dimes, where she served as Community Director in two states, and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, where she held such positions as Senior Campaign Director and Campaign Manager across multiple cities, including Birmingham. In these roles, she managed budgets in excess of $2 million and played a crucial role in helping the organizations exceed annual revenue and recruitment goals.

Wilkerson's enthusiasm and drive for working with nonprofits was developed at a young age, when she was encouraged to give back to her community and to help others in need. "My heart and passion is to help those who find themselves in difficult circumstances and to make a positive difference in the lives of others," said Wilkerson. She assumed this role on September 1 and is exhibiting her passion to in her leadership of Red Mountain Grace.

"After an extensive interview process that involved a number of highly qualified candidates, the Board unanimously selected Lizzi to help move this organization forward. Her experience, knowledge, and vision for the future made her the ideal choice to take Red Mountain Grace to the next level. After much prayer and discussion, we feel that we have made a wise decision by hiring Lizzi for this important ministry leadership position," said Jason Carroll, Founder of Red Mountain Grace.

Since 2013, Red Mountain Grace has worked to meet the housing needs of patients and their families and caregivers who are receiving long-term medical treatment at hospitals throughout Birmingham. Red Mountain Grace currently operates 12 apartment homes and has welcomed over 200 families since its inception. On average, 30-40 families in Birmingham remain on housing waiting lists every night. Red Mountain Grace is working hard to bridge that gap, and under the leadership of Lizzi Wilkerson, we believe that we are poised to make an even greater impact in 2018 and beyond.
