A Christmas Message from Red Mountain Grace

by Liz McCullough

As we joyfully celebrate the holiday season, we reflect on a decade of warmth, compassion, and gracious hospitality from neighbors like you. This Christmas, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your role in our mission of providing clean, safe, and affordable housing.

Because of our volunteers and givers, Red Mountain Grace has been a haven for over 1,000 families, providing more than 50,000 nights of housing to those facing unexpected medical challenges.

This season, may your heart be filled with the warmth of love, the joy of hope, and the spirit of generosity. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year from your neighbors at Red Mountain Grace!

In the spirit of the season, we’re grateful to share a piece of art from Rhema, whose family found respite in a Red Mountain Grace apartment while her sister received medical care in Birmingham. Though she has never spoken audibly, Rhema found her voice through painting, her way of happily sharing with the world the story of how God saved her.

We’re honored to present her beautiful creation, titled “my sister,” as our Christmas card for 2023, a symbol of the transformative power of gracious hospitality. May this serve as a reminder of the impactful role each member of our extended community plays in the Red Mountain Grace story.

“my sister”

she is seeing all my struggling and tells me it is ok and

says i am the best sister in the world.

i know that she is.
